Syllabus for the next 6 weeks

**It is highly recommended that you download and print this syllabus and have it available for the next 6 weeks**



Week 1

Reading from "Coaching Rules" book:

  • Introduction Pg. 15-18
  • Ground Rules Pg. 19-26
  • Deliberate Practice Pg. 27-31

Finding your Baseline

  • Exercise #1 on Pg. 29

Film yourself coaching these 5 videos

  1. Squat
  2. Pushup
  3. Deadlift
  4. Chinup or dumbbell row
  5. Front plank

Then, film yourself coaching a full client session, and if you coach groups, film yourself coaching a group.

  • Exercise #2 on Pg. 30

Print or write out the three to five programs you’re currently using. Grab a pen and paper and write at the top “I put this exercise here because.” Go line by line, one exercise at a time, and explain the “why.”

  • Exercise #3 on Pg. 31

Set a 30-minute timer and answer the following questions.

  1. What kind of impact will I have on my clients, my athletes, in my com- munity and in the fitness field over the next 20 years?
  2. What do you want to accomplish in 10 years?
  3. Based on your answer above, what will you need to accomplish three years from now?
  4. Based on your answer above, what will you need to accomplish this year?
  5. Based on your answer above, what will you need to accomplish in the next 90 days?
  6. Write your own testimonial as if you’re your own client. What do you want it to say?

Your first Coaching Call with Coach B

We will discuss:

  1. Your current goals & situation
  2. How it is I can best help you
  3. Expectations for the next 6 weeks
  4. Your baseline videos, the 3-5 programs you've selected, and your legacy answers
  5. What you're accountable for in week 2



Week 2

  • Deliberate Practice for How Do I Program Part I: Audit & Needs Analysis Pg. 161 - 164
